François
Dompierre • Writer/Director
all the days before tomorrow represents the first feature project by François
Dompierre, fresh from his studies at the University of Southern California,
an institution with graduates responsible for such innovative fare as
“Napoleon Dynamite," “Special” and “Brick.”
The coach of his school's comedy improv team in sixth grade, François
led the squad to a silver medal in the national championships. Building
on this momentum, every year at the holidays he would sing and dance in
front of his whole family. He was quite the entertainer, at least according
to his mom. Perhaps that’s where the passion began.
Born and raised in Quebec City, Canada, François obtained his Bachelor
of Arts in Film Studies from the University of Montreal in 1997. His undergraduate
thesis film “Trente Secondes (Thirty Seconds)” screened at
several prominent festivals, including the Montreal World Film Festival.
After a short stint at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, he
started working as a second assistant director in Montreal, immersing
himself in both film and television projects there. François then
made his way back to Los Angeles a few years later when he was accepted
into the graduate film program at the University of Southern California,
where he honed his creative skills.
While at USC, François wrote and directed several innovative short
films. He also contributed creatively to “Playing,” “2+1,”
“A Kiss on the Nose,” and the award-winning “9:30,”
screening to critical acclaim at Cannes and other festivals internationally.
Gavin Kelly • Director of Photography
Gavin Kelly is an award-winning director of photography who has lensed
a wide spectrum of narrative features and shorts, music videos, commercials,
documentaries and television projects. His extensive background in visual
arts, music, and film has helped him become a distinctive, dynamic visual
collaborator.
While in undergraduate studies in Visual Arts at U.C.S.D., Gavin was awarded
two Student Emmys for his films. Gavin went on to receive an M.F.A. in
film production at the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television
in 2004.
In 2005 Gavin received the prestigious A.S.C. Charles B. Lang Heritage
Award for Outstanding Cinematography, Honorable Mention, from the American
Society of Cinematographers, a distinction that celebrates rising new
talent in cinematography.
Besides all the days before tomorrow, Gavin's recent credits include West
Bank Story, a bold musical-comedy take on the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict. The film premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, and after
winning dozens of awards at international festivals has just been nominated
for an Oscar in the 2007 Academy Awards.
Aran Reo Mann • Production Designer
Building on her formal education in the arts – earning both a BFA
in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Goldsmiths
College in London – Aran decided to turn her attention to film.
She started her career as assistant art director on “Collateral,”
but quickly moved on to full-blown production design. In addition to all
the days before tomorrow, her credits include “The Garbageman”
and Miranda July’s Sundance award-winning “Me and You and
Everyone We Know.”Aran recently completed work on the feature version
of the classic 80’s television show “Miami Vice,” released
internationally this past summer.
